ELISABETH C. GOODMAN

Elisabeth has more than thirty years of experience representing businesses and individuals in Massachusetts.  She has special expertise in real estate, zoning and environmental law.  Her clients include developers with innovative building re-use projects, homeowners who have organized into special governmental districts, emerging and start-up corporations, condominium associations, nonprofit organizations, and environmental engineering firms.  She reviews and advises on complex transactions, including public financing and large-scale public construction projects.  She is an energetic advocate and an experienced negotiator.

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS

• She was Deputy Chief Counsel for the Massachusetts Highway Department and Acting Chief Counsel for the Third Harbor Tunnel/Central Artery Project, one of the country’s largest public works projects

• She is counsel for municipal economic development authority and several governmental districts

• Elisabeth has represented developers and others, including a Fortune 50 Company, in commercial condominium disputes

• She is counsel for condominium associations and homeowners’ associations throughout Berkshire County

• She has represented numerous clients before local, state and federal boards and agencies in connection with project permitting and approvals, as well as in litigating such cases in state and federal courts

• She serves as Town counsel for Richmond, Massachusetts

• Law Clerk, D.C. Superior Court

IN THE COMMUNITY

Elisabeth is an active participant in her community, having served as a board member of a number of nonprofit organizations including past President of the Williamstown Chamber of Commerce, as Co-President and Board member of Greylock A Better Chance, Inc., on the Mount Greylock Regional School District Building Committee, and as President of Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity.

She is currently serving as the elected Moderator of the Town of Williamstown and as board member of the Massachusetts Moderator’s Association.
